There are various types of head collars on the commercial market now.

The head collar is invaluable for dogs who pull.  Why?  Simple - it works on exactly the same principle as a horse's head collar - where the head goes, so does the rest of the body.

Try walking a pulling dog with a collar (leather or choke!) and lead and it's a chore.  Put a head collar on and you will be surprised at the difference!  No weight, no pulling - walking is a pleasure!

Head collars are also invaluable for dog aggression - eye contact is key, if you break the eye contact, you diffuse the situation.  With a head collar, it's very easy to break eye contact.

NEVER use a headcollar with an extending lead, the neck damage that it can cause is severe!

Headcollars....

These are an invaluable training aid for a dog who pulls.

The main aim is to work out WHY your dog pulls though, the headcollar is just a means of control while you work to establish heelwork.  If you are having problems, contact us and we will be happy to help.
