The Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme was launched in 1992.
In excess of 47,000 dogs have now passed through the scheme and it is
administered through over 1,000 training organisations.
The main aim of the scheme was to promote responsible dog ownership,
bringing together basic training, grooming, diet and general care
aspects. All dogs are eligible for the scheme, pedigree, cross
breeds, young and old.
The scheme is NOT competitive.
There are three levels of award, Bronze, Silver and Gold which
incorporate a gradual development in the understanding of dogs.
On completion of the awards, you are awarded with a certificate to mark
the achievement and a rosette on completion of the Bronze award.
