You need very little equipment to train your Rottweiler!

If you are starting from a puppy with a clean "sheet", this is all you need:

Ordinary Buckle Collar

Lead;

Clicker (if using);

Treats!

Toy(s)

We do not advocate choke chains, prong collars etc.  We only advocate positive training methods as we want you and your dog to have the best possible relationship.

We achieve this through thinking "dog".  Check out our Pack Ranking details as this is the cornerstone of all training.

The Rottweiler is not a dog to be bullied.  He has a noble air which we want to preserve and work with, not destroy.  When working with your dog, we want to see him confident, happy with his head up and looking at his handler.  We are going to achieve this by being the "giver" of all important resources!

In this section we will look at all the different training equipment - recommended and not recommended so you know what works, what doesn't and why.   You'll also know what everything looks like!

Your Relationship...

We work on the basis that your dog must WANT to work for you rather than HAVE to.

Your dog must obey your commands but there is a fundamental difference to wanting and having to!
